EISENBAHN-CERT
is a certification and inspection body for complex railway systems and components.

EISENBAHN-CERT
was established to undertake the duties of a Notified Body an Designated Body as an independent and autonomous organizational unit at the Federal Railway Authority in Bonn.

EISENBAHN-CERT
is a "Notified Body Interoperability" according to the Directive (EU) 2016/797 on the interoperability of the rail system within the Community (identification number of the European Commission: 0893).

The European Directives have been transposed into national law in the Trans-European Railway Interoperability Regulation (TEIV) for high-speed and conventional rail.

The aim of this Regulation is to transpose the specifications of the European directives into German law. For this purpose, assessments of conformity and suitability for use are carried out for interoperability constituents. In addition, EU verification for the structural subsystems infrastructure, energy, control-command and signalling and rolling stock is required. All of these EC certifications can be carried out by EISENBAHN-CERT, the Notified Body Interoperability at the Federal Railway Authority.

For all these assessments EISENBAHN-CERT operates independently. EISENBAHN-CERT is supported by an advisory board, which includes, among others, representatives of the Association of Railway Industry in Germany (VDB), the Association of German Transport Companies (VDV), the Track Construction Monitoring Association (ÜGG) and the Deutsche Bahn AG.
